I’ve always been someone who creates. It just looks different depending on the season.

It started in the kitchen. As a chef, I found my art in building recipes from scratch, layering flavors, plating with intention, turning ingredients into something people felt. Then came teaching, which was its own kind of creativity: sharing that passion with others and watching something click.

When Covid brought the culinary world to a halt, I pivoted and entered the world of insurance. The creativity didn’t disappear, but it went quiet for a while. I kept searching for the right outlet. I hobby-hopped. I found my way into bookstagram, making book posts, reviews, and graphic designs. And somewhere in that world, an idea started forming: a book-lover inspired necklace.

That little idea cracked something open.

I had it manufactured, but it wasn’t quite right. The wearability was off, tariffs shifted, life shifted. I fell in love with jewelry design & thought: why not use my own two hands and see what happens?

What started as charm necklaces shared with my bookstagram community has grown into something I couldn’t have planned. By Gabrielle Amanda is now fully handmade and artisan-inspired, pattern-forward pieces built by studying color, texture, art, and scenery, then sourcing materials that bring it all together. Every piece is assembled by hand, with care and intention in every choice.

It’s slow work. It’s the right kind of creative.
